Description
How often does a team fail to reach its full potential because they ignore the basics, planning the work, allocating the tasks, monitoring progress and revising the plan? The Organisation Game gives teams the chance to work together, experience the current group dynamic and consider how to improve the groups’ performance by building on each individual’s skills.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Effectively organise team resources.
- Build mutual respect amongst team members.
- Develop their team identity.
How it works
There are 21 tasks each of which entitles the team to a points score. The team must allocate the tasks between team members so as to score the maximum number of points. The tasks are varied in nature, to ensure all participants are able to contribute. There are numerate tasks, creative tasks, physical tasks, judgmental tasks and knowledge-based tasks.
What participants will be doing
Examining an assortment of point-scoring tasks to decide which they should attempt, given the skills and abilities within their group. Carrying out the selected tasks individually or in small groups. This may mean mental activity (sitting around a table) or agility (building something) or outdoor activity, depending on the tasks chosen.
For what levels is it appropriate?
It is suitable for all those who need to increase the performance of their team through effective utilisation of resources and full communication.
Duration
Between one and a half and three hours depending on the purpose of the exercise.
