Elgood Effective Learning is pleased to offer this alternative opportunity to meet Professionalism CPD requirements. Members may claim up to 4 hours of CPD, provided they are satisfied it fulfils their needs, and allocate this as they consider appropriate.
The Ethics Challenge is a highly interactive way of debating the ethical issues that are present in most business decisions and which many organisations do not fully consider. We have found that getting people together in a team environment brings the issues alive and enables participants to experience the effect of their decisions on a business. The finance sector has more allegations about inappropriate business behaviour made about it through the media than any other sector of business and industry.
If you apply to join one of the events we are offering, you will be a member of a team, acting as a director of a retail company, competing against other similar companies. You could enter a full team of five people from your own company or enter as an individual and we will assign you to a team.
Your company will make decisions about a given business situation over a number of periods. Your decisions will affect the reputation of your company, the level of trust in your company’s management, and your company’s return on capital employed. These three elements are combined to derive a Most Admired Company (“MAC”) index. Your company will be aiming to achieve the highest MAC value.
The Ethics Challenge also requires using communication, influencing and team working skills.
The simulation includes an ethical decision-making framework that you will be able to apply in your own company and which requires the likely effect of a decision on all stakeholders of a company to be taken into account.
